faversham counselling service report

Who refers clients to the Faversham Counselling Service?

In a recent analysis of people coming to Faversham Counselling Services the majority were recommended to us by their GP. Of course, people do not have to be referred to us by their doctor, anyone can make a self referral by contacting the service themselves. Over a four month period we had 100 individual referrals, 78% of these declared that their doctor had suggested they seek counselling from us.

Reasons for referral include stress, depression, anxiety, problems in marital or other relationships, lack of purpose in life and panic attacks. Local businesses are also finding the benefit of a service to which they can refer their staff when needed. Counselling can be very helpful to those facing stress, redundancy or returning to work after an illness. Increasingly, we receive referrals from Social Services and enquiries from Solicitors on behalf of their clients for mediation work. The emergency services of Police, Fire and Ambulance are some of whom we seek to offer support in the course of their daily work. We seek always to build upon the good working relationship we have with our local doctors and health professionals.
